Common Name:
Iceberg Stonecrop
Description:
Sedum spectabile 'Iceberg' is a hardy, clump-forming perennial valued for its thick, fleshy foliage and brilliant late-season flowering. This variety produces broad, flat-topped clusters of crisp white flowers that emerge in late summer and carry through into autumn, providing a valuable nectar source for bees and butterflies. The upright stems are topped with bluish-green, succulent-like leaves that hold their form well throughout the growing season, creating a sculptural look even when not in bloom. As the flowers age, they develop a soft beige hue, adding further textural interest. 'Iceberg' thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and it is extremely drought-tolerant once established — perfect for Melbourne's dry summers. Ideal for borders, cottage gardens, rockeries, or pots, this variety also makes an excellent cut or dried flower.
