Common Name:
Superba Snake Plant

Description:
Sansevieria trifasciata 'Superba', commonly known as the Superba Snake Plant, is a compact, architectural succulent celebrated for its upright, sword-like foliage with bold green variegation and golden-yellow margins. Native to West Africa, this dwarf cultivar of the classic Snake Plant is particularly well-suited to indoor growing in Melbourne due to its hardiness, low water requirements, and tolerance of low-light conditions. The thick, leathery leaves grow in a rosette and store water, making the Superba ideal for busy plant lovers or those in dry environments. It thrives in bright, indirect light but will also perform well in shade or artificial lighting, making it a perfect fit for offices, hallways, and bedrooms. Requiring minimal care, it prefers well-drained soil and infrequent watering—typically every few weeks. Although flowering is rare indoors, mature plants may occasionally produce small, fragrant white blooms. The Superba Snake Plant is also renowned for its air-purifying properties, helping to filter indoor pollutants.
