Common Name:
Salvia HEATWAVE 'Blast'
Description:
Salvia HEATWAVE 'Blast' is a vibrant, compact salvia cultivar from the Australian-bred HEATWAVE™ series, developed specifically for hot, dry climates and low-maintenance landscapes. ‘Blast’ produces masses of vivid reddish-pink flowers held above aromatic grey-green foliage, creating a long-lasting and eye-catching display from spring through to autumn. This variety thrives in Melbourne’s full sun and well-drained soils, making it an excellent choice for waterwise gardens, borders, and containers. Its dense, rounded form and prolific blooming habit make it particularly effective in mass plantings or as a colourful informal hedge. Light pruning after flowering helps to encourage bushiness and repeat blooms. Salvia ‘Blast’ is a magnet for bees and nectar-feeding birds, adding life and movement to the garden while requiring very little care once established.
