Common Name:
Chamomile Sunray
Description:
Rhodanthe anthemoides ‘Paper Star’ is a compact, evergreen Australian native perennial known for its profusion of pure white, papery daisy-like flowers with bright yellow centres. Blooming abundantly from spring through summer, the star-shaped flowers emerge from soft pink buds, creating a striking contrast against the fine, grey-green foliage. This variety forms a neat, mounding habit with slightly trailing stems, making it ideal for rockeries, borders, containers, and hanging baskets. Thriving in Melbourne's climate, it prefers full sun to part shade and well-drained soils. Once established, it exhibits good drought tolerance and is frost hardy. Regular deadheading encourages prolonged flowering, and a light prune after blooming helps maintain its compact form. ‘Paper Star’ is also excellent for drying, with its flowers retaining their colour and shape for long-lasting floral displays.
