Common Name:
Silverlawn Lilyturf
Description:
Liriope muscari (LIRSS) Silverlawn™ is a finely textured, low-growing ground cover ideal for high-impact, low-maintenance landscaping. This cultivar is bred for its uniform, grass-like foliage and its ability to form a dense, mat-like lawn alternative with a soft, flowing appearance. The rich green leaves have a narrower form than traditional Liriope, offering a clean and modern aesthetic that works beautifully in mass plantings, borders, or between pavers. Silverlawn™ is highly tolerant of a wide range of conditions — from full sun to full shade — and is especially effective at suppressing weeds thanks to its tight growth habit. In late summer and early autumn, it sends up small purple flower spikes that sit subtly above the foliage. Well suited to Melbourne’s climate, Silverlawn™ is both drought- and frost-tolerant once established and handles clay or sandy soils with ease. With no mowing required and very little upkeep, it’s the perfect solution for hassle-free greenery in both residential and commercial landscapes.
