Common Name:
Blue Angel Holly

Description:
Ilex × meserveae ‘Blue Angel’ is a compact, evergreen shrub prized for its dense, bushy growth and striking deep blue-green foliage. The glossy, spiny leaves provide year-round interest, making it a popular choice for hedging, foundation planting, or as a specimen shrub. In spring, it produces small white flowers, which, when pollinated by a nearby male holly, result in bright red berries that persist into winter, attracting birds. This variety is highly cold-tolerant and thrives in well-drained, slightly acidic soils with a position in full sun to part shade. Blue Angel is a low-maintenance, ornamental shrub that adds structure and seasonal interest to gardens.
