Common Name:
Grevillea 'Superb'
Description:
Grevillea 'Superb' is a compact evergreen shrub renowned for its vibrant, long-lasting flowers and finely divided, light green foliage. Typically reaching 1.5 to 2 meters in height and width, it produces large, cylindrical clusters of coral, pink, and yellow flowers, up to 12 cm long, at the ends of its branches over most of the year. These nectar-rich blossoms are highly attractive to birds and make excellent cut flowers. The plant thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, tolerating moderate frosts and drought once established. Regular pruning after flowering encourages a more compact habit and promotes prolific blooming. Avoid using fertilizers high in phosphorus, as grevilleas are sensitive to it. Some individuals may experience skin irritation when handling the plant; wearing protective clothing is advisable.
