Echinacea SUNSEEKERS® Tequila Sunrise

Common Name:

Echinacea 'SunSeekers Tequila Sunrise' – Tequila Sunrise Coneflower

Description:

Echinacea 'SunSeekers Tequila Sunrise' is a spectacular, compact flowering perennial celebrated for its extraordinary multicoloured blooms, vibrant sunset tones and exceptional garden performance. Part of the popular SunSeekers range, this striking coneflower produces an abundance of large, daisy-like flowers featuring a dazzling combination of golden yellow, warm orange, coral and rich reddish-pink petals surrounding prominent, dark burgundy-brown central cones. The beautiful colour variations create a fiery, sunset-inspired display, with individual flowers developing different shades as they mature. Its sturdy, upright stems rise above a dense clump of attractive, deep green foliage, providing a bold and colourful feature throughout the warmer months. With its naturally compact and bushy growth habit, Echinacea 'SunSeekers Tequila Sunrise' is an outstanding choice for cottage gardens, mixed perennial borders, mass plantings and decorative containers.

Flowering from late spring through summer and into autumn, Echinacea 'SunSeekers Tequila Sunrise' delivers an extended display of vibrant colour while attracting bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Well suited to Melbourne's temperate climate, it thrives in full sun and prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it demonstrates excellent heat tolerance and good drought resistance, making it ideal for water-wise gardens and low-maintenance landscapes. Regular deadheading encourages further flowering, while leaving selected seed heads to mature provides seasonal interest and may attract seed-eating birds. During Melbourne's cooler winter months, this herbaceous perennial typically dies back to ground level before producing fresh growth in spring. Growing approximately 60 cm tall and 50 cm wide, Echinacea 'SunSeekers Tequila Sunrise' combines dramatic flower colour, reliable performance and a compact growth habit, making it a standout addition to contemporary, cottage and naturalistic garden designs.
