Echinacea SUNSEEKERS® Citrus

Common Name:

Echinacea 'SunSeekers Citrus' – Yellow Coneflower

Description:

Echinacea 'SunSeekers Citrus' is a vibrant, compact flowering perennial renowned for its brilliant citrus-yellow blooms, prominent central cones and exceptional garden performance. Part of the popular SunSeekers range, this stunning coneflower produces an abundance of large, daisy-like flowers featuring radiant golden-yellow petals surrounding distinctive, raised greenish-bronze cones that gradually mature to warm brown. Its sturdy, upright stems rise above a dense clump of attractive, deep green foliage, creating a cheerful and eye-catching display throughout the warmer months. With its naturally compact, bushy growth habit and impressive flowering performance, Echinacea 'SunSeekers Citrus' is an excellent choice for cottage gardens, mixed perennial borders, mass plantings and decorative containers.

Flowering from late spring through summer and into autumn, Echinacea 'SunSeekers Citrus' provides an extended display of brilliant colour while attracting bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Well suited to Melbourne's temperate climate, it thrives in full sun and prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it demonstrates excellent heat tolerance and good drought resistance, making it a practical choice for water-wise gardens and low-maintenance landscapes. Regular removal of spent flowers encourages additional blooms, while leaving some mature seed heads in place can provide food for seed-eating birds and add architectural interest to the garden. During Melbourne's cooler winter months, this herbaceous perennial typically dies back to ground level before producing fresh growth in spring. Growing approximately 60 cm tall and 50 cm wide, Echinacea 'SunSeekers Citrus' combines outstanding colour, reliable flowering and a naturally tidy growth habit, making it a versatile addition to contemporary, cottage and naturalistic garden designs.
