Common Name:
Happy Plant

Description:
Dracaena fragrans 'Massangeana', commonly known as the Happy Plant, is a popular indoor foliage plant known for its striking, variegated leaves and upright form. The broad, glossy green leaves are marked with a central lime-yellow stripe, creating a bold and tropical look ideal for brightening interiors. Native to tropical Africa, the Happy Plant thrives in Melbourne's indoor conditions, performing best in bright, indirect light but capable of tolerating part shade and low-light corners. It grows slowly and steadily, forming a thick, cane-like trunk over time that gives it a tree-like appearance. Low maintenance and drought-tolerant once established, it requires minimal watering and appreciates protection from direct sunlight and cold draughts. While flowering is rare indoors, mature plants can occasionally produce highly fragrant white blooms. Active growth occurs during the warmer months, with minimal upkeep needed throughout the year.
